Indianapolis Met student chosen for NASA program

William Sprowl, an incoming senior at The Indianapolis Metropolitan High School, is spending seven weeks at a NASA research center learning about science, technology, engineering and math alongside scientists and researchers.

Sprowl was one of only 150 students in the United States and Puerto Rico selected to participate in a NASA education project, called “INSPIRE.”

Sprowl, who wants to study chemical engineering or astronomy, was assigned to the Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The center researches ways to sustain life on the moon and develops prototypes for rockets.

Students must have a 3.0 grade point average to be selected.
